DiY Hair Elastics - Yes Please!

Hey friends,

Happy Tuesday! This week is going to be a crazy one for this gal but I certainly wanted to give you gals a fun DiY for your Tuesday. So here it is DiY hair elastics. You have probably seen these things popping up everywhere, Sephora, Etsy, Amazon, etc. The prices are not bad on some and pretty high on others but I found an awesome site (thanks to this blog) where you can order the elastics by the yard and either tie them off yourself or sew them up and have almost any color you want, even some with sparkles! They are so quick and easy to make and a yard makes about 4 if you tie them.

Basically you take the yard of elastic and cut off 9 inches.
Fold in half, make sure it is shiney side out and tie in a knot, yep that’s it.

Or you can cut a shorter length approximately 6 ½ to 7 inches.
Turn it inside out.

Sew the loose ends together with a machine or by hand. I did mine by hand and did a whip stitch. I went back and forth the length of the elastic about 5 times to make sure it was good and tight and would hold while the rest stretched.

Off to my next project for the day!
